Coronavirus: Nonso Okafor Distributes Hand Sanitizers, Tap Buckets To Markets In Nnewi (Photos)

As part of measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus disease, the Member Representing Nnewi North in Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor, has distributed thousands of hand sanitizers and hundreds of tap buckets in local markets in Nnewi.

The lawmaker who distributed the items in different local markets in Otolo, Uruagu, Umudim and Nnewichi, during a sensitization and enlightenment campaign against coronavirus, led by him, expressed hope that the items will help in protecting his constituents against the Coronavirus.

Speaking to the traders, Nonso Okafor said that the coronavirus which is a deadly virus has become a pandemic following thousands of death which have been recorded globally due to the virus.

While commending the efforts which both the state and the federal government have taken in tackling the spread of the virus, Nonso Okafor said that people should take the preventive measures seriously.

He advised the traders to imbibe the habit of constantly washing their hands with soap on running water, sanitizing their hands, avoiding crowded places and public functions, using of face masks, gloves, and most importantly observing social distancing.

Sharing the hand sanitizers and tap buckets to the market leaders, Hon. Smart advised the leaders to place the buckets at strategic points in the market to enable traders and their customers to make use of them.

He also urged them to extend those preventive measures in their different residence to curb the spread of the disease.

Among the markets visited includes: Eke Amobi, Nnofor Royal Market, Eke Amangwu, Afor Ubu, Afia Umuele, Eke Akammiri, Afia Ejiamatu, Nweke Akabokwu, Ozuru Market Obiofia, Nwafor Uruagu, Orie Agbo, Afia Okpuno Egbu, Amuko Market, Umuisiedo Market, Nwaorie, Odu Igbo Foodstuffs Market, Ogbo Ogwu, Ozuda Bread market Akabo and Afia Mgbede.

The items were are distributed to some health centres, Catholic Diocese of Nnewi and Anglican Diocese of Nnewi.
