Ize-Iyamu Cast His Vote, As He Takes Early Lead In Ongoing APC Primary

Favoured Guber Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has cast his vote in the ongoing Edo APC guber Primaries.

Iyamu cast his vote this morning at Ugboko Ward in Orhionmwon LGA of the state. Iyamu is rumoured to have the backing of suspended APC national chairman and former Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomole.

The primaries have been going on peacefully despite the crisis rocking the party. Factional acting national chairman, Victor Giadom on Monday declared the primaries ‘illegal’ adding that the exercise remains postponed until he appoints members of an electoral committee that will handle the exercise.

However, Results of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election which held on Monday has started trickling in.

Anaedoonline.com reports the elections were held across 192 wards of the 18 local government areas of the state to elect the party’s flag bearer for the forthcoming governorship polls in September 2020.

Based on results that have been declared in some wards, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has taken an early lead and is opening up the gap against his fellow aspirants.

The other aspirants are Pius Odubu and Osaro Obaze.

In Igieduma ward/Uhunmwonde LGA, out of the 1568 accredited voters, Ize-Iyamu scored a total 1560 votes.

Results from ward 9/Oredo, in Edo South shows that Ize-Iyamu got 198 votes out of the 200 accredited party members, Odubu, 0 and Obazee 2.

APC Crisis: Edo APC Ward Lifts Suspension On Adams Oshiomhole

Ize-Iyamu got 784 votes from Ward 7/Etsako West, in Edo North out of the 808 accredited voters. Odubu got 24 and Obazee 0.

From Ward 3/Egor, in Edo South out of the 195 party members accredited, Iyamu got a total of 175 votes; Odubu got 15 and Obazee 5.
