With the English Premier League set to resume, Legendary Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, has expressed optimism that Mikel Arteta can bring respect back to the club.

The 70-year-old is backing Arteta to bring back the glory days at the Emirates. Wenger told TalkSport. in an interview:
“I still worry about the club a lot and I watch all of the games, I believe there is a culture in the way to play football at Arsenal that I want to be respected, and I hope Mikel can get that back.”
Arteta signed a three and a half year contract, to replace Unai Emery, making him the second manager to take charge of the Gunners, since Wenger ended his 22-year reign in 2018.

Arteta, who played under Wenger at Arsenal between 2011 to 2016, and went on to captain the club, thanked the Frenchman for helping his dream come true.

Months ago, there were speculations that Arsenal’s board is working on bringing Arsene Wenger back to the club, the UK Mirror reports.
Wenger has not returned to the Emirates, since he left in 2018 after 22 years in charge of the Gunners, with his formal player now in-charge, He hope things improve.
The club’s hierarchy are trying to convince Wenger, who has landed a job with FIFA, to return. The board feel wenger’s return, would serve as a boost to the fans and increase the support for Arteta.
Senior figures at the club have already spoken to Wenger about the prospect of a return and there has been discussions about a statute in his honour.
