Coronavirus: Kano Residents Defy Order To See Football Match (video)

Video footage has surfaced online showing some Kano residents defying the social distancing directive over coronavirus by federal and state government, as they were seen in large numbers watching a football match.

As of 11:10 pm yesterday, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control gave the number of new confirmed cases in Kano as 23, making a total of 59 in the most populous Northern state in the country.

Kano first recorded its first COVID-19 case on April 11, and four days later its first COVID-19 death, April 15.

The numbers of cases in the state is fast on the rise, forcing the state government to take precautionary measures but looking at the video footage that is fast becoming viral one can tell that some residents of the state are not taking the social distancing directive serious.
