Two persons were feared dead in a clash between the police and a group of youths in Nkpor, near Onitsha, Anambra state.
The deceased were said to have been allegedly shot by the police after they were reportedly attacked with acid.
A resident of the area, who claimed to be a witness, preferred anonymity, said only one death was recorded in the incident.

“They are two in number but one was rushed to the hospital according to report the one rushed to the hospital couldnt make it. He is dead already,” he said.
The police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the report, describing it as unprovoked attack on Police patrol team.
He said efforts were ongoing to restore sanity in the area.
He said:
“It was an unprovoked attack on Police patrol team with substance suspected to be acid by some miscreants.

“Yes they snatched the rifle of the Policeman after pouring acid on him which prompted the other policemen to use force and retrieved the rifle.”
Currently, the youths have taken to the street to show their anger, which they argue that Nigerian Police has killed more Nigerians than coronavirus have killed.
