Fire Outbreak: Office Of Nigeria’s Accountant-General On Fire

Fire has broken out at the Treasury House, headquarters of the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation.

The cause of the outbreak which began around 10 am on Wednesday is not known. Officials of the Federal Fire Service are already at the scene.

They are being assisted by the police, National Emergency Management Agency, and the Abuja Environmental Protection Board.

However, There was a huge explosion at the Abule Ado area of Festac Town in Amuwo Odofin LGA of Lagos State.

An eyewitness told our correspondent that a tipper offloading sand caught fire, which spread to a nearby pipeline, triggering the blast.

Many houses have been destroyed by the blaze, the Lagos state fire service, however, says the implosion is not connected with the pipeline, but there are buildings on fire in Ado Soba, Abule-Ado, and Amuwo-Odofin.

According to officials of the fire service, the situation is under control.

Earlier today, reports came in of Residents of Surulere, Amuwo Odofin, Oshodi, Ikeja, Alimosho and environs were thrown into confusion on Sunday morning following an explosion.

It was gathered several houses were shaken by the explosion, which also made some collapse.

Affected residents said the loud sound was as a result of pipeline explosion at Satellite Town that caused some buildings to collapse at Abule Ado.
