President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, has tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19).

We earlier today reported that Kyari has been seriously “down” since returning from a trip to Egypt and Germany.

Egypt has 327 confirmed cases of Coronavirus and 14 deaths while Germany has 29,056 infections and 123 deaths.

A new report from a reliable source has it that Kyari who recently tested positive was at a meeting on containing the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria all through Sunday, where he reportedly started to cough.

Subsequently, he voluntarily submitted himself for testing and was informed of his status yesterday.

Abba Kyari is said to have however gone into absolute isolation following the test result, he is also said to be hale and hearty and showing no symptoms apart from the occasional cough.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has confirmed four new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total to 40. The agency announced this on their official Twitter page with the words;

”Four new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria. 3 are in Lagos State and 1 in FCT”

Two of these cases are returning travelers. As of 11:00 pm on the 23rd of March, there are 40 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. 2 have been discharged with 1 death recorded“
