A young girl identified as one Oluchi Akabilo aged 20, residing at Azia Street, Ngbuka-Obosi allegedly drank a liquid substance suspected to be to be insecticide in a bid to take her own life.
SP Haruna Mohammed, PPRO Anambra State Police Command, who confirmed the incident stated through a release that the police were contacted at about 4pm.
The young girl allegedly got pregnant in a relationship with one Chinedu whose surname is yet unknown who unknown to her is married with children.
She became devastated upon the discovery of the marital status of her boyfriend. And to make matters worst, she was jilted and abandoned by the same man.
Victim decided to buy a poison to kill herself with part of the 10,000 naira allegedly given to her by the boyfriend to abort the pregnancy.
She was rushed to the Hospital in Onitsha by the Police for medical attention and doctors are making frantic efforts to save her life.

Meanwhile, Investigation into the incident has commenced and effort is ongoing to get the fleeing boyfriend apprehended in order to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident please.
Recently, a policeman simply identified as Tolulope has allegedly shot his wife dead and later committed suicide.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening in the University town of Akungba-Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State
The cop, who is attached to Akungba Police Division was said to have pulled the trigger when an argument erupted between him and his wife.
According to neighbours, the couple have running disputes over frequent telephone calls received by the wife received undisclosed persons.
The Public Relations Officer of Ondo State Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police Tee-Leo Ikoro confirmed the incident.
He described the incident as unfortunate, adding that investigation has commenced to ascertain the remote and immediate causes of the incident.
Ikoro disclosed that preliminary investigation revealed that the couple was alone in their apartment when the incident happened, making it difficult to know what actually happened.
The couple was survived their two-year-old child and a three-week-old baby.
