The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor has commended Governor Obiano for making Anambra state the first state in the Southeast zone to host the games in view of his giant contributions to the security of lives and property of the masses.
Speaking to newsmen at the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka during the kick off of the games, Okafor extolled the decision of the Nigeria Police to bring the event to Anambra state in appreciation of the massive support the Police Force has continued to receive from Governor Obiano.
The Speaker, who recounted various awards on security given to Governor Obiano by different reputable national and international organizations, including the Nigeria Police, commended the Governor for making Anambra state the safest state in the country.

He called on affluent citizens as well as politicians in the state to give maximum support to Governor Obiano especially in security by assisting the State Police Command and other security agencies in the state.
Okafor enjoined the state police athletes who are competing in the thirty one different games to intensify efforts to ensure that they win substantial laurels.
There are indications that the 12th edition of the biennial games which will feature thirty one games to be hosted in seven venues across the state will be a great success and arguably the best since the inception of the games.
