The Unnecessary Fight That Almost Turned Bloody On Our Road (Video)
A fight between a tricycle and a bus driver nearly turned bloody but for the intervention of onlookers.
The incident which occurred along Nnewi-Nnobi road on Wednesday evening generated a different reaction from different eye-witnesses.
An eyewitness who claimed to be a passenger on the bus aired his opinion about the fight to Anaedoonline.com
“The Keke driver hit our bus driver on the highway when we were in the traffic because he refused to let him enter the moving lane,” he said.
An account of another passenger who gave her name as Ifeoma Chuka indicated that the Keke driver was the first offender. “The Keke driver hit the bus driver with a head-pan he collected from his bricklayer passenger when we were stuck in the traffic around Nnewi high school, our bus who driver insisted on retaliating, then followed the Keke behind until he got to the last bus stop.” She said.
We noted that almost all the passengers joined in the confrontation, taking sides with their respective drivers.
The tricycle driver kept on screaming, “I will deal you, I am from Nnobi”, at the bus driver, while the driver was torn between ”retrieving” an apology from his attacker and fighting his attacker.
Traffic rules are there for a reason, penalties for flouting traffic rules are also there for a reason. Road mishaps and primitive occurrences on our roads will not cease until these two factors are taken seriously by all and sundry.
