IGBO Language Brutally Takes Over Nigerian Social Media Space
There was a time communicating in Igbo Language was seen as Local, a time when younger folks shy away from speaking Igbo language, a time Igbo speaking Parents communicated with their Children in English Language, making them see Igbo speakers as Illiterates.
That was a time when schools punished students who found speaking Igbo Language in school, and to crown it all, a world reputable body predicted that Igbo Language is bound to go into extinction in some years time.
For some reasons that we are yet to find out, that trend is beginning to change positively, younger Generation of Igbo are beginning to Proudly identify themselves as Igbos, they communicate with Igbo Language, not just in words but in Texts.
Anaedoonline has observed a recent trend on Twitter where Igbos Proudly post tweets in Igbo language, unlike the previous times when they post in English Language. This Trend has made those who can’t speak Igbo language or type in Igbo Language to start learning how to speak and type in the Igbo Language because they feel left out in the discussion.
Dr. Nnedi, an American based Scifi Writer who was instrumental in the making of Black Panther was forced to learn Igbo language after witnessing the trend.
I've got all the books, CDs, Igbo language apps, etc.
I know, I know I can still learn and I am trying.

Igbo blogs are not left out in the wave, they are beginning to get traffic, and more Igbo blogs are springing up.
An Igbo Blogger who couldn’t hold back her happiness said,” Ookita ka ndi Igbo Bidolu”
( Igbo people just started )
Below are some of the tweets
Studying Odinala really helped me understand Igbo so much better. I realized that without it like 75% of the Igbo language is just dormant….
