Igbo leader gives Police Accolades As They Prepare To “Bite” Criminals with Operation”Puff Adder”

The Spiritual leader of the Igbo nation, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka (Ogilisi Igbo) has commended the Nigeria Police Force for introducing a new security measure tagged “Operation Puff Adder” saying that the measure is a welcome development considering the fact that the security situation in the country is ever demanding for measures that are appropriate enough to curtail the menace of insecurity endangering lives in all parts of the country.

Speaking on the new measure which was launched in Anambra State yesterday, Chief Ezeonwuka noted that the introduction of “Puff Adder” is a strong indication that the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu is committed to seeing the police live up to its responsibility in securing lives and properties of Nigerians anywhere they are, noting that the zeal demonstrated by Commissioner of Police in Anambra and his officers during the launching in Onitsha shows that the Nigerian Police mean business.

He expressed hope that “Puff Adder” is going to be a success in Anambra saying,
“I am impressed with the zeal shown by the Commissioner of Police, Danduara and his team, I hope with the support of our Governor, His Excellency Chief Willie Obiano who has zero tolerance for criminals and insecurity, with the backing of the community vigilante groups, this operation is going to be successful in Anambra State”

The Igbo leader who has been vocal on security matters in the country observed that the coming of “Puff Adder” is timely, considering the rising rate of nefarious activities of violent criminals who manifest as terrorists, bandits, cultists, assassin, kidnappers and armed robbers, including human traffickers in all parts of the country
“No part of the country can safely claim to be free of violent crimes this time,” He said

Speaking Further, The Igbo Leader said, “Everywhere in Nigeria is under siege facing a particularly violent crime or another. No where is safe, so for the Police to come up with a new measure is a clear indication that they are committed to dealing with the menace of violent crimes and thus Police deserve commendation and total support from well meaning members of the general public to enable the measure to achieve the aims of which it was introduced.

“Of course the Police cannot do the job alone, we the members of the public have to give them back up.As the Spiritual leader of the Igbo nation, I want to use this opportunity to call on the general public to give the Police all the necessary support and encouragement to enable the officers and men carry out the operation according to the vision of the Inspector General of Police. ”
